The
2005/06 Annual Program will be enriched with new subjects like Art History, Portraiture, Landscape
Painting and Animation. These classes will be included within the Annual Program and spread throughout the year. Students who register for the Annual Program will greatly benefit from the variety of artistic subjects that will be taught. New teachers will be invited to teach the new subjects included in the Program. Students will be separated into different classes according to their age and skill levels. The new program will help students develop a deeper understanding of art and provide them with moreopportunities to explore their artistic knowledge and skill.Students will be taught fundamental drawing conceptssuch as composition, measuring proportions, depicting thethird dimension, lines, light and shading. In order to inspire the creativity of the students, the new program encourages them to work in a variety of styles and mediums such as pencil, charcoal, conte, pastel, tempera, watercolor, acrylic and oil. With step-by-step instructions students will be able able to increase their skill level and ability by working in different techniques and using a variety of materials. Classes in the new program are divided into three categories that are based on skill level:
Beginners
This level provides students with the fundamental knowledge of drawing and painting and prepares them to take the next step in the learning process. Students will work with pencil, charcoal, pastel and tempera.
Intermediate
In the Intermediate level students will apply their previous knowledge and skill in order to create new and exciting work. They will continue to study color theory and explore new artistic tools and mediums. Students will paint Still Life from real objects and Landscapes from photographs.This level will also introduce students to basic knowledge of working with acrylic paint.
Advanced
Advanced level students continue to develop their knowledge and skills by working on different projects such as advanced Still Life Painting, Portrait Painting, Conceptual Art and Abstract. Students are encouraged to experiment with new mediums and tools and work on canvas, masonite board and a variety of paper. These new challenges enable students to unleash their imagination while discovering their personal style and learning about Art. Beginners. Students will work with pencil, charcoal, pastel and tempera.
